Metro train anatomy

Inspect the roof, body, passenger interior, bogies and cab of a metro carriage. Isolate each assembly in 3D and learn how the train systems work together.

What you can explore

Roof & climate
Two roof-mounted climate units circulate conditioned air through the carriage. Removable covers give maintenance teams access while keeping the passenger space clear.
Body & doors
The body protects passengers while large windows open the view. Three pairs of sliding doors on each side distribute boarding. In this model, traction waits until every door is closed.
Passenger interior
Longitudinal seating leaves a clear central aisle and open entrances. Vertical poles and overhead rails offer support to standing passengers as the train starts and stops.
Bogies & wheelsets
Electric traction drives solid steel wheels along the rails. Each simplified bogie carries two axles and four flanged wheels, with suspension supporting the body. A small painted rim mark lets you follow wheel rotation as the model speed changes.
Driver’s cab
A broad dark windshield, curved blue nose and white band around the headlights take their visual cues from the Line 1 metro. The operating desk below the drawing lets you explore a simplified journey.

These models explain principles; they are not engineering drawings or forecasts. Real examples, further reading and model limits accompany each learning experience.
